Legacy Devers Eye Institute sponsors the annual Thorny Issues in Ophthalmology conference to provide continuing medical education for eye care providers. This meeting has traditionally focused on new, innovative, and controversial topics in ophthalmology and eye care. Thorny Issues supports the mission of Legacy Devers Eye Institute of continuing education, ground-breaking research, and world class patient care.
Learning Objectives:
Discuss recent advancements in treatment of ophthalmic diseases, with special interest on potentially blinding conditions. Summarize emerging surgical techniques, with a focus on minimizing complications and optimizing outcomes. Describe the latest innovations in diagnostic imaging modalities and how to appropriately apply them in clinical practices. Discuss pathophysiology of ophthalmic conditions, and how to appropriately educate and counsel patients in a patient-centric manner.
